MIRI: The only 5- star school in Miri, Riam Road Secondary School ( RRSS), once again showed its unique curriculum in spurring students to excel in the SPM besides the Unified Examination Certificate ( UEC), Cambridge A- Level and other examinations.

The school’s chief executive officer Datuk Dr Fong Onn Min said 256 Form 5 students comprising 134 Arts and 122 Science sat for the SPM last year and achieved a 99.22 percent pass rate.

He said it could be the only one of 61 Chinese Independent Schools in Malaysia to send 100 per cent of her students for the SPM since 10 years ago.

He said the school has achieved excellent results with 100 per cent or near 100 per cent passes in subjects like English, Chinese, Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, General Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Accounting, Commerce, Art and EST.

As a progressive school which advocates holistic education, RRSS is noted for its emphasis on moral conduct, good discipline, and leadership training besides academic and co- curricular achievements.

He urged all SPM students to continue with the world renowned Cambridge A- Level or other UK Advanced Diploma courses such as engineering in RRSS-affiliated Riam Institute of Technology ( RIT) prior to pursuing degrees in the world’s top notch universities.
