KUCHING: The Wushu Federation of Sarawak ( WFS) is sending a shadow team of 10 exponents for the second training stint in China, this time to Fukien province, from March 5 to April 2.

This comes after eight of them had undergone a month-long stint in Henan last year from July 26 to Aug 26.

The selected male athletes are Clement Ting Su Wei, Clement Thian Fung Seng, Elvic Bong Qian Zheng, Lee Cau Peng, Chiew Sow Hong and Muhammad Asri Abdul Wahab while the female athletes are Lee Hui Xian, Fu Wen Jie, Yong Arifah Khairul Kok and Stephanie Ngu Chai Ern.

Coaches Lau Hui Wei and former national coach Yoong Thong Foong will accompany the Sarawak team.

WFS president Allen Wong Siew Poh, who is managing the team for the stint, said Fukien province was chosen because China’s best wushu athletes in taiji and nanquan disciplines come from there.

“We will be training together with the Fukien Province athletes,” he said.

“I hope our 10 athletes will make ful l use of this golden opportunity to learn from their Chinese counterparts and improve further,” he added.

I hope our 10 athletes will make full use of this golden opportunity to learn from their Chinese counterparts and improve further.
