GMC new worship centre opens tomorrow

MIRI: Grace Methodist Church (GMC) Miri has a new Sunday English Service (second in Miri) and a Sunday School on the first floor of Mciti Square Airport Road.

Pastor Lenita Tiong said the new worship centre will be operationa­l starting Sunday (March 6) from 8.30am to 10am.

“This centre caters to the increasing church members in Miri totalling 9,732 members. We have 14 churches including in Marudi and we hope this new centre will make it convenient for those in and around Miri Airport area,” she told reporters yesterday.

Also present were GMC Mission chairman Aaron Hii and vice-chairman Paul Wong Hee Hwong in charge of the new centre and associate lay leader Tan Kok Chui.

Lenita added that both the Sunday English Service and Sunday School will start simultaneo­usly. The four classrooms allocated for Sunday School can take in 50 children aged 4-12 at any one time.

“We encourage all irrespecti­ve of race to make full use of this worship centre and Sunday School although for a start it only operates from 8.30am to 10am on Sunday,” she said.

Apart from the new worship centre at Mciti Square, GMC held Sunday English Service at its church in Pujut 3A, where it has Sunday Worship Service from 8.30am-10am and from 7pm-8pm while Thursday Night prayer is from 8pm-9pm
