SUPP, PBB working hard to ensure Miri a BN fortress again
MIRI: SUPP is confident Miri will once again become a BN stronghold after the 11th state election as the party is working very closely with its BN partners, particularly PBB.
Senadin assemblyman Datuk Lee Kim Shin, who is Assistant Minister of Communication, said SUPP and PBB had been preparing the ground very early on to retake Pujut and Piasau, which were lost to the DAP during the last state polls in 2011.
“During the state election, we (SUPP) lost two (Pujut and Pisau) seats and won with a very thin majority in Senadin. Therefore, we need to shoulder a bigger responsibility to ensure Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem wins big,” he said at the launching of PBB N.73 Senadin Election Operation Centre in Permyjaya here yesterday.
“We need to ensure we win all these three seats ( Piasau, Pujut and Senadin) with a big majority because Miri was once a BN stronghold before that (defeat in 2011).”
Lee praised PBB Senadin for being very committed in ensuring its election machinery was ready to help SUPP Senadin.
Meanwhile, PBB Senadin chairman Councillor Julaihi Mohamad said yesterday’s event also involved the simultaneous opening of all nine election operation centres of PBB sub-branches in Senadin constituency.
He hoped Adenan’s motivating words during meetings with BN supporters and PBB members in Miri recently would boost their enthusiasm to work harder to ensure a BN victory in Senadin.
He requested all PBB members to help ensure all eligible voters cast their votes on polling day.
Present at yesterday’s function were SUPP secretary general Datuk Sebastian Ting, SUPP Pujut chairman Adam Yii and heads of all the nine sub-branches of PBB in Senadin constituency.
