BAU: Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem kept mum on who BN would field in Tasik Biru even though he was impressed with the huge turnout of over 10,000 people at a leader- meetthepeople session at Redeems Centre here yesterday.

He said he had never come across such a big gathering of Bidayuhs before.

“This is the biggest crowd of Bidayuhs that I have ever seen and that tells me something. ( But) I will not tell you who the candidate (for Tasik Biru) is yet, but based on what I see now, I think I know what to do,” said the chief minister.

Present at t he gathering organised by Parti Tenaga Rakyat Sarawak ( Teras) were State Legislative Assembly ( DUN) Speaker Datuk Amar Mohd Asfia Awang Nassar, Minister of Infrastructure Development and Communic ations Dato Sri Michael Manyin Jawong, Tasik Biru assemblyman and Assistant Minister of Industrial Estate Development Datuk Peter Nansian Ngusie and Opar assemblyman Ranum Mina.

Adenan said he was encouraged by the show of hands by those who supported Nansian and that the huge turnout of Tasik Biru voters showed most of them supported BN.

“I have been to all corners of Sarawak, and my assessment is that most Sarawakians still believe in BN.”

Adenan reminded those present to remember to cast their votes during polling day, adding that was what counts at the end of the day, not the chanting.

“We will vote to choose who will be the chief minister of Sarawak and not choosing who will be the prime minister. That is why we are each only given a ballot paper, not two. You’re not choosing ( Datuk Seri) Najib ( Tun Razak), but Adenan Satem.”

Adenan said he would be seeing Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud soon to request him to dissolve the State Legislative Assembly for the 11th state election.

He urged opposition supporters to return to the BN fold for the good of the state.

“Let us set aside all our political differences for the future of Sarawak and its people,” he said.
