Entri: Beluru community epitomises ‘unity amidst diversity’ concept

-

MIRI: The community in Beluru, Bakong – comprising the Malays, Ibans and Orang Ulus – is a true reflection of the ‘ unity amidst diversity’ concept that Sarawak has long been known for.

In this respect, Marudi assemblyman Datuk Sylvester Entri Muran urged each member of this community to continue upholding such harmonious relationship and cooperation with one another.

“I know that all of you have been living with one another for years, and by now you all have mutual understanding with one another.

“You all must preserve this harmony, as it is the pillar that unite you and also one that would ensure the progress of your community,” he said after declaring open Masjid Al Munir Kampung Melayu Beluru yesterday, witnessed by Beluru District officer Mataib Sayu and local community leaders.

According to Entri, the Barisan Nasional ( BN) government has always been concerned about the interest of and issues affecting all communities across the state, and would strive to assist them when it comes to development, including the establishment of centres of worship for the people.

“As the people’s representative for Marudi, many government grants have been channelled to me to be allocated for the construction of and also improvements on mosques, suraus, churches and temples across the constituency.

“For the Muslims here, I’m sure you have seen many changes and development that have taken place, with more ( projects) on the way – thanks to the BN government, which is sincere in helping the people.

“I’ve learned that the original surau was built before the 60s – made only with tree barks. Eventually, wood planks replaced the tree barks.

“Now, I’m happy to see that you can now perform your prayers and other religious activities in this concrete surau,” he said.

Adding on, Entri said that he presented RM200,000 in grant to Masjid Al Munir and this year, the fund gets another RM150,000 from the assemblyman.

“I’m helping all the communities in Marudi. I have also distributed allocations to churches and the Buddhist temples here.

“Having said this, I assure you all that only the BN government could deliver such promises and champion the interest and welfare of local communities. As such, the people must continue to rally behind the present government under the leadership of ( Chief Minister) Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem.”

Entrialso expressed hisgratitude to his Muslims constituents for their undivided support to him all these years.

“I hope you would continue to support me in years to come.”
