Cara Delevingne is Rimmel new brand ambassador

-

CARA Delevingne has been unveiled as the new ambassador of the UK makeup brand Rimmel.

The supermodel and actress is following in the footsteps of another fashion icon, Kate Moss, in teaming up with the high street cosmetics label.

“It’s the fi rst make-up brand I was introduced to as a teenager,” Delevingne, a native Londoner, said of the new partnership. “I’m a London girl through and through and Rimmel truly captures and represents the city’s edgy, cosmopolitan beauty styles.”

A s f amou s for her unconventional style and down-to- earth attitude as she is for her high-profi le modelling contracts, Delevingne’s streetwise personality made her a natural choice for the brand, which has worked hard to craft a savvy, youthful, urban identity over the past few years. “She will be a powerful addition to the brand,” says Johanna Bussinelli, Chief Marketing Officer of Colour Cosmetics at Coty. In hiring the model, the brand will benefit from her mass of over 36 million social media followers — an avenue it is clearly keen to exploit. On Apr 15, Rimmel will host its fi rst- ever “Global Snapchat Press Conference,” allowing fans to question Delevingne using the hashtag # RimmelxCara. The star will choose her favourite questions from the public and answer them live on Snapchat. Delevingne’s stratospheric rise through the modelling ranks has seen her at as the face of Burberry as well as landing starring roles for Chanel, Stella McCartney, Topshop and Mango, alongside Kate Moss. Her decision to move into acting has seen her feature in “Paper Towns” opposite Nat Wolff, Michael Winterbottom’s “The Face of an Angel”, and Joe Wright’s “Pan” starring Hugh Jackman, Amanda Seyfried and Rooney Mara. She will appear on screen this summer in the DC Comics superhero movie “Suicide Squad.” — Relaxnews
