Community Hidayah engages expert to assist its halal foray

LABUAN: Labuan- based Community Hidayah ( Labuan) Ltd has engaged Brunei-based Al-Tayibat Halal Global Solution in its effort to venture into the halal industry.

Chairman Suwardi Zainuddin said the col laboration with Al-Tayibatpan­y, a halal food technology expert, would include knowledge sharing, funding and training.

“We intend to fully utilise the RM50 million Labuan Halal Hub Complex by producing our own products,” he told Bernama af ter meet ing Al - Tayibat representa­tives yesterday.

“Labuan is home for the country’s largest methanol plant and so far it’s potential is left unexplored by private entities.

“We are keen to venture into this field as we know that methanol is an essential ingredient in so many industrial and household items,” he said.

Suwardi said the company would seek assistance from the Malaysia External Trade Developmen­t Corporatio­n in promoting its halal products.

Meanwhile, Labuan Halal Hub Chief Executive Officer Manisah Mahmud said it was prepared to assist Community Hidayah’s venture into the halal industry.

“We hope the company will utilise all of the facilities at the Labuan Halal Hub,” she added. — Bernama
