KUALA LUMPUR: Visa Malaysia is confident of posting doubledigit growth among Muslim cardholders within the next 12 months from the current five million.

This follows its partnership with Mitra Kembara Sdn Bhd here yesterday.

Visa Country Manager for Malaysia, Ng Kong Boon said the partnership is to establish the country’s first platform to provide travel-related tours and services for Muslim travellers.

“With the launch of this platform, we can focus on promoting travel related products catering to all Visa Islamic cardholders for travel, lifestyle and dining in Malaysia and around the world,” he told a press conference here after the Visa-Mitra launch.

At present, Visa Malaysia’s total Visa Credit and Debit cardholders stands at 25 million, of which 25 per cent or five million are Muslim cardholders.

Mitra Kembara President Datuk Seri Iskandar Tunku Abdullah said the partnership with Visa Malaysia underlines the diversity of products and services provided to Visa Cardholders, who are entitled to special discounts on some products.

“These include an exclusive premium and private umrah (small haj) plus ziarah package, Syariah- compl iant tours to Australia, India, Uzbekistan and soon to Japan, South Korea, Macao and other destinations,” said Iskandar.

He said under the partnership, discounts would be offered to Visa Infinite and Visa Signature cardholders plus other Visa card holders.
