Rayong lauds Adenan’s decision on partyless Barisan assemblymen
KUCHING: Engkilili assemblyman Dr Johnical Rayong Ngipa said he was not surprised by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem’s directive to the nine partyless BN assemblymen to consult their constituents before making their final decision to join Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu ( PBB).
Despite the delay of PBB in accepting the group into the party, Rayong said it is high time for most Dayak elected representatives to be united under the state BN backbone party PBB.
“It is not only good for Dayak unity but also mark the beginning of better Bumiputera politics in the state,” he said yesterday.
He thanked the chief minister for his decision which he described as wise.
“I am confident that majority of constituents who voted me will like the idea of joining PBB and we are given a month to consult our constituents.
“Me and my supporters will hold an event this month in Engkilili to symbolically mark our intent,” he said.
Earlier on at a press conference held here after PBB supreme council meeting, Adenan who is PBB president said he would like the nine partyless lawmakers to consider joining PBB only after consulting or get the blessing of their respective constituents within a month’s time.
