Kenneth Ma plays a mentally ill psychologist in ‘Mind Hunter’
HONG KONG: Kenneth Ma will be leading a team of troubled crime fighters in the upcoming TVB psychological suspense drama ‘ Mind Hunter'. The 28episode serial costars Mat Yeung, Ngo Ka-nin, Michelle Yim, and Sisley Choi.
“It's a very interesting concept,” said Kenneth when introducing his role. “Although I am a psychologist, my mind isn't all there. Many characters in this drama have some kind of mental problem. Mat Yeung's not all there either. Although Ngo Ka-nin plays a cop, he has a psychological disorder. It's three silly guys investigating other silly guys. It's interesting.”
‘Mind Hunter' will be Kenneth's first drama with rising rookie star, Sisley Choi. Although Kenneth and Sisley will be sharing many scenes together, Sisley's primary love interest in the show is played by Ngo Ka-nin. Kenneth, on the other hand, will have a tragic romantic story with Roxanne Tong, who plays Kenneth's late girlfriend. Unable to let her go, Roxanne appears in Kenneth's hallucinations and dreams.
How does Kenneth imagine his girlfriend to be like? Kenneth laughed and joked, “My girlfriend should be wearing

little clothing, but I don't know how the costume department would respond to that!” ( That's it?) “Anything more would probably get censored! I suggested to do a director's cut. Just for me, the director, and the producer to watch.” ( So despicable and dirty!) “I know!”
Sisley has had a history of love rumours with her former costars. Asking Kenneth if he is worried that he would get warped into the gossip as well, Kenneth said, “I'm not worried at all. We are not a pair in this drama. She is with Ngo Ka-nin. Probably the company thinks she's too small for me so we're not a good match!”
Is Sisley worried that she'll get into love rumours with Ngo Ka-nin? She laughed and said, “I rather have rumours with Roxanne Tong and Vivien Yeo. They're hot.”
Kenneth's last primetime TVB television drama was 2015's anniversary drama ‘ Lord of Shanghai', playing a guest supporting role. His last major lead series was ‘Noblesse Oblige', which aired in late December 2014. This sporadic schedule has led to rumours that TVB is benching Kenneth, as his contract is nearing its end.
Kenneth denied these claims. He explained, “I'm still on my contract and we've always been in discussions (about renewing). As long as my contract is still going on, I am still a part of TVB. I am always on the lookout for suitable drama offers.”
