SERDANG: Four suspects, including a woman, believed to have been involved in a spate of armed robberies in the Klang Valley, were arrested last Wednesday.

Serdang Police chief ACP Megat Mohd Aminuddin Megat Alias said the suspects, aged between 18 and 37, were detained in a raid at Serdang Raya, Balakong and Seri Kembangan here.

Police also seized a hammer, gloves, a helmet and a Perodua Viva car allegedly used by the suspects when carrying out robberies.

“With the arrest, police believe they can solve at least 12 armed robbery cases,” he told reporters at the Serdang police headquarters here yesterday.

He said the suspects were actively involved in robbing petrol stations and 24 hour convenience stores for the past six months.

Meanwhile, Megat said in an unrelated arrest, a 42-year- old suspect was detained following a robbery at a convenience store in Seri Kembangan, last Sunday.

“He was arrested by police after the robbery at around 10.50pm,” he said adding that items seized from the suspect included a ‘ Rambo’ knife, axe, fake pistol and items stolen from the store. — Bernama
