Pansar declares four per cent dividend for FY16

SIBU: Pansar Bhd has declared a four per cent dividend of 20 sen per ordinary share of its financial year ended March, 2016.

At its annual general meeting yesterday, the company also reported a total turnover of RM3604 million net income of RM7.9 million and earnings per share of 2.81 sen for the fiscal year.

Chairman Dato James Tai stated that the less- than- enthusiast­ic global regional and local economic sentiment brought about by the sustained downward pressure on prices and demand for commoditie­s, the depreciati­on of the Malaysian ringgit, the reverberat­ion from the removal of fuel subsidies and te commenceme­nt of the Goods and Services Tax had a cascading effect on the performanc­e of Pansar’s five business divisions.

Pansar has employed a twoprong long-term strategy to address the future of the company, including diversific­ation and widening of revenue bases, and optimising business efficienci­es continued.

Managing director Datuk Jason Tai , meanwhile, asserted that the undercurre­nts pinning the Malaysian business environmen­t in the last fiscal year has simmered down and expectatio­ns are now more realistic and firm, among their principals, vendors and clients.
