CM presents RM1 mln grant to RC Archdioces­e of Kuching

KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem yesterday presented a government grant of RM1 million to the Roman Catholic Archdioces­e of Kuching.

St Joseph’s Internatio­nal School Board chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Leo Moggie was present to receive it, witnessed by Archbishop of Kuching John Ha and Auxiliary Bishop Simon Poh.

Adenan also handed over a government allocation of RM1 million to Lundu district officer Hamsein Attar for the Education and Training Committee and also to build part of the Lundu Multipurpo­se Centre.

Witnessing the presentati­on was Welfare Department director Abang Shamsuddin Abang Seruji, JKR officers Malcom Jinus Raip and Stanley Chai.

Adenan also received a number of courtesy calls yesterday, including from the new Sarawak Federal Secretary Datuk Mohd Zuki Ali, who commenced his duties on Aug 10. He replaces Datuk Md Yahaya Basimin.

First Malaysian Infantry Division commander Major General Datuk Stephen Mundaw also paid a courtesy call on Adenan the same morning. He was there to introduce three new commanders - Third Infantry Brigade commander Brigadier - General Mohd Bustaman Mat Zin, Ninth Infantry Brigade commander Brigadier- General Subari Tomo and 31st Infantry Brigade commander Brigadier - General Jamaluddin Jambi.
