Seminar for families with OKU children next month

KUCHING: A seminar on ‘Will and Trusts’ for families with special needs children ( OKU) will be organised by Rock Wills Group at Kingwood Inn here on Sept 24.

According to the organiser, the proceeds from the ticket sales will be channeled to the Cerebral Palsy Associatio­n for Kuching and Kota Samarahan also known as Wishesland Kuching.

Wishesland Kuching president Chi Poh Yung said the seminar is the first of its kind in the state and those who wish to attend the event need to purchase a ticket at RM20 per adult.

“I am appealing to parents with special needs children to come and attend this seminar so that the future of our special children will be at good hands based on our wishes and planning,” he said after the signing of a Memorandum of Understand­ing ( MOU) between Wishesland and Rock Wills Corporatio­n Sdn Bhd here yesterday.

In a press statement, Rock Wills Group estate planner Steve Lau said that in recent months, there were countless requests for estate planning presentati­on for families with special needs children and adults.

“These parents are concerned if one day when they are no longer around, are there any ways to ensure that their children’s needs are taken care of like maintenanc­e, medical and special education needs,” he said.
