No reports of ministry officers being threatened — Henry
IPOH: There have been no reports recently of enfrocement officers from the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism ( KPDNKK) being threatened by certain parties to escape punishment, said its Deputy Minister, Datuk Henry Sum Agong.
He said people were now more aware of the duties and responsibilities of enforcement officers in ensuring the best interests of the public.
“No further reports have been received recently on the matter (intimidation), we believe that people are clear about the role of enforcement officers in carrying out their duties to help the people,” he said.
He was speaking to reporters at a press conference after officiating the closing ceremony of the Basic Enforcement Course Series 2/2016 at the General Operations Force Training Centre in Ulu Kinta here, yesterday.
In the meantime, Henry called on enforcement officers to equip themselves with skills and knowledge, and be more creative in adapting to the changing environment. At the event, Henry presented certificates to a total of 100 trainees comprising Grade KP41 Enforcement Officers, and Grade KP29 and KP19 Assistant Enforcement Officers who were recruited in 2014.
Nur Fatihah Abdul Latif, 22, from Terengganu was named the Best Overall participant, while Dedi Susanto Japar, 27, of Sabah, was the best shooter in the month- long exercise which began on July 17. — Bernama
