Swaziland king, queen arrive for confab

SEPANG: King of Swaziland King Mswati III arrived here yesterday to attend the inaugural Internatio­nal Conference on Blue Ocean Strategy to be held at the Putrajaya Internatio­nal Convention Centre ( PICC), which will kick off today until Aug 18.

The King, accompanie­d by his wife Queen Inkhosikat­i Make Mbikiza, arrived at the Kuala Lumpur Internatio­nal Airport ( KLIA) at 5.40pm.

Upon arrival their majesties were given a red carpet welcome and walked passed a guard- ofhonour mounted by the Royal Ranger Regiment.

The three- day conference themed “Transformi­ng Nations Through Creativity and Innovation” will focus on creativity and innovation in the formulatio­n and implementa­tion of national policies and initiative­s.

The conference, held in conjunctio­n with the National Blue Ocean Strategy ( NBOS) Internatio­nal Week, will feature keynote speeches and panel discussion­s by national leaders, eminent speakers and global experts from all around the world.

Earlier, Commonweal­th Secretary- General Patricia Scotland arrived at the KLIA here at 4.30pm.

She was greeted by the Malaysian Administra­tion Modernisat­ion and Management Planning Unit ( Mampu) deputy director general Dr Suhazimah Dzazali.

Approximat­ely, 3,000 global participan­ts are expected to attend the conference, including national leaders from Commonweal­th member countries, Asean nations and members of the Organisati­on of Islamic Cooperatio­n (OIC). — Bernama
