Joe Chen denies she had wept bitterly at wedding
TAIPEI: Actress Joe Chan has angrily denied that she had wept bitterly during the wedding reception for former beau Wallace Huo and Ruby Lin.
Wallace and drama queen Chen had apparently been in a cosy relationship before the cosiness vanished with the appearance of Ruby into the complicated merry- go-round.
To ease the pain of unrequited love, Wallace and Ruby had sportingly given Chen the role of a bridesmaid – which she surprisingly accepted.
After news that Chen had wept bitterly during the reception were widely circulated in Hong Kong and Taiwan, an annoyed Chen went on the offensive on Weibo to rubbish the claim.
Appealing to her detractors to back off, Chen wrote with self- deprecating humour and cynicism: “Absurd and hopeless! To the media, please think about work ethics before making up any stories. Perhaps you do not have any work ethics after all. I am a simple person, I enjoy my work and life. I only wish to work well and if fortunate enough, to know some true friends. I do not wish to become the target of gossip. Thank you for showing concern for me to the point of fabricating this story. Give me a break!”

Top Hong Kong actor Louis Koo had actually been wooing her – albeit for a brief spell, but for a period long enough to draw the attention of paparazzi.
The undercover romance was reportedly developing well until no-holds- barred comedienne Sandra Ng blabbed that she had also been matchmaking Koo with Taiwanese star Michelle Chen.
Michelle went on to marry mainland Chinese actor Chen Xiao. That leaves Joe Chen, 37, and Koo 45, still unattached, which isn't a hassle for him, but a real burden for her. For the traditionalists in Taiwan, any lady who is still unmarried at 27 is usually viewed with both derision and sympathy.
