MMS Education Fair at Taman Sri Sarawak Mall tomorrow

KUCHING: The MMS Education Fair will make their second pit stop at the Market Management Services ( MMS) office in Taman Sri Sarawak Mall here from 2pm5pm tomorrow (Aug 18).

According to a press statement, the education fair will be in at Tanahmas Hotel from 2pm- 5pm before moving to the Promenade Hotel, Bintulu on Aug 20 from 2pm- 5pm.

The last pit stop will be in Miri at the Imperial Hotel on Aug 21 at 1pm- 5pm.

A mo n g u n i v e r s i t i e s participat­ing in the fair is Curtin University, which is Western Australia’s largest and most multicultu­ral university.

With more than 50,000 students across their campuses in Perth, Singapore and Malaysia, and other partner institutio­ns, the university boasts a population of nearly 16,000 internatio­nal students – the third- largest internatio­nal student population in Australia.

The university welcomes a diversity of nationalit­ies, cultures and ideas and has been recognised as one of the world’s most internatio­nal universiti­es by Times Higher Education 2015/16.

The Faculty of Humanities at Curtin offers a diverse range of Bachelor degrees that are applied, creative and relevant to contempora­ry society. This includes architectu­re and built environmen­t programmes (such as constructi­on management, and urban and regional planning), recognised by QS World University Rankings by Subject 2016 as being among the top 100 in the world – an indication of the university’s commitment to quality teaching and education.

Their media and communicat­ions programmes are also recognised as among the top 150 in the world by QS, with a strong focus on work integrated learning. Work integrated learning aims to integrate theory with practical, industry- engaged teaching, and is designed to produce graduates with the right skills, knowledge and experience they need to transform ideas and impact the world.

Another education institutio­n participat­ing in the fair is The Kilmore Internatio­nal School.

For over 25 years, it has been the premier Internat ional Baccalaure­ate World School in Australia delivering outstandin­g academic outcomes for a l l Internatio­nal Baccalaure­ate ( IB) graduates.

Their academic staff is highly skilled with 40 per cent of them experience­d IB examiners. The location of Kilmore offers a safe, rural boarding environmen­t that lends itself to academic and outdoor activities rather than the distractio­n of a big city.

In 2015, Diploma graduates scored an IB score of 34 (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of over 92) on average with graduates forging a diaspora across Australasi­a, America and Europe.

Students also benefit from contact with g raduates at Cambridge, Oxford, London School of Economics, Yale, Australian National University, Melbourne University and other highly sought- after universiti­es in Australia and overseas.

The school also has an excellent success rate with 100 per cent of Diploma graduates gaining a place at a tertiary institutio­n.

Also participat­ing in the education fair is Eynesbury from Adelaide, Australia. It is a specialist institutio­n that offers a range of programmes and educationa­l pathways to studies at the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia ( UniSA).

Founded in 1989, Eynesbury has an outstandin­g record of academic achievemen­t and is highly experience­d in the developmen­t and delivery of programmes tailored for local and internatio­nal students.

Eynesbury offers Years 10, 11 and 12, foundation studies leading to Bachelor degrees at the University of Adelaide and UniSA as well as diplomas leading into second year undergradu­ate studies.

Eynesbury offers internatio­nal students the opportunit­y to study in an Australian high school with a domestic student population of 75 per cent.

In 2015, 15.8 per cent of the students achieved an ATAR score above 98.00, which puts them in the top 2 per cent of South Australian graduates.
