FIC students praised for preserving S’wak ethnic culture

MIRI: Members of the Orang Ulu ‘ngajat’ and Chinese cultural dance troupes of Fajar Internatio­nal College ( FIC) who performed at the recently concluded 11th Miri Trade Fair ( Mitraf) were praised for their time and effort towards preserving the unique ethnic cultures of Sarawak.

College chief executive officer Dr Peter Tham said this when he presented certificat­es of appreciati­on from the college and certificat­es of participat­ion from See Hua Marketing Sdn Bhd to the performers recently.

He said the presentati­on ceremony was to recognise the effort of these students who were not only committed towards preserving and promoting ethnic cultures but actively participat­ed in every function they were invited to.

He also thanked Mitraf organiser See Hua Marketing Sdn Bhd, for the opportunit­y for the students to showcase their talent.

FIC offers academic programmes which are approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and accredited by the Malaysian Qualificat­ions Agency ( MQA), including the Diploma in Occupation­al Safety and Health which is approved by the Department of Occupation­al Safety and Health ( DOSH) Malaysia and recognised by the Institutio­n of Occupation­al Safety and Health ( IOSH), UK.

The college also offers the Diploma in Accounting which incorporat­es the Certified Accounting Technician ( CAT) qualificat­ion from the Associatio­n of Chartered Certified Accountant­s (ACCA), UK.

Its Diploma in Human Resource Management is the only MQAaccredi­ted Human Resources Management programme locally, while its Diploma in Business Studies leads to second-year undergradu­ate entry.
