SMK Green Road wins Science and Mathematics quiz
KUCHING: SMK Green Road represented by Mirza Azri Dzulzalani, Ronald Branie Roland Sagah and Theng Jing Xuan from Team 31 emerged champion of the ‘Science and Maths Quiz 2016’ organised by UCSI University’s Sarawak Campus recently.
According to a press statement, the winners received RM1,000 cash and a RM30,000 bursary after coming out tops in a compulsory individually administered multiple- choice test and rapid-fi re question session.
In second place was Team 16 from SJK Chung Hua Middle School No. 1 comprising Caleb Thian Jia Le, Nathan Lee Jia Neng and Sharon Law Lifeng who won RM500 cash and a RM15,000 bursary.
Third place went to Team 13 from St Joseph’s Private School

“UCSI University Centre for Pre-U Studies (CPU) is the centre of choice where students learn about university life before they start their degree programmes. Through this event we hope to promote not only science and mathematics-related knowledge but also to foster a closer relationship with schools,” said UCSI Sarawak Campus CPU programme coordinator Irene Foo.
A total of 138 Form 4 and 5 students in 46 teams from 17 schools took part in the quiz.
“The UCSI Science and Maths Quiz is an annual event not to be missed. Besides the prizes (bursary and cash), students also take part in a great new experience, make new friends and have a lot of fun,” said organising chairperson Li Joon Teck.
