Lodge International School to hold Info Evening on Aug 26
KUCHING: Lodge International School here will hold an Information Evening for parents and prospective students to find out more about the curriculum and the school admission procedure on Aug 26 from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
In a press statement yesterday, the school said the event would also be an excellent opportunity for students and parents to talk to the school’s leaders and teachers about specific subjects, especially on the expansion of its Year 10 and 12 classes in 2017.
After more than a decade of outstanding academic and co- curricular performances, the school is looking forward to receiving more students who continuously seek to attain higher standards.
The school will be opening an additional class for its Year 10 and 12 students beginning 2017 intake.
This is part of a five year plan to eventually admit more secondary students into the International School.
The statement also said the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education ( IGCSE) is an academically rigorous, internationally used curriculum which is widely recognised by leading higher education institutions as evidence of academic achievement.
An independent benchmarking study has also shown that the Cambridge IGCSE is comparable to the United Kingdom’s GCSEs.
At Lodge International School, students can choose from a wide range of subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Biology in the sciences to Geography, Business Studies and English Literature in the humanities.
Many of their IGCSE graduates find themselves well-prepared for top colleges across the world, and have gained admission into top universities like Cambridge and Oxford.
From the Class of 2015, five Malaysian candidates were identified as Top in the World for Mathematics – and four of them were from Lodge International School.
Additionally, one other student was Top in Malaysia for Economics.
