Brad Pitt skips film premiere to focus on ‘family situation’

-

ACTOR Brad Pitt said on Tuesday he was skipping the premiere of his latest project to focus “on my family situation” and not distract from the educational documentary, following his highly publicised marital split from Angelina Jolie.

Pitt, 52, narrated the 45minute IMAX documentary fi lm “Voyage of Time,” directed by Terrence Malick, which he called “incredibly beautiful.”

“I’m very grateful to be part of such a fascinating and educational project, but I’m currently focused on my family situation and don’t want to distract attention away from this extraordinary fi lm, which I encourage everyone to see,” the actor said in a statement.

It was Pitt’s second statement since news of the Hollywood power couple’s split broke last week.

He previously said in a statement to People magazine that he was “very saddened” after Jolie, 41, fi led for divorce in a Los Angeles court, asking for sole physical custody of the couple’s six children.

Jolie’s lawyer said the actress made the decision to fi le for divorce “for the health of the family.” She and Pitt had been together for 12 years, and married for two years.

Pitt’s next fi lm is “Allied,” a war drama coming out in November and co- starring French actress Marion Cotillard.

Last week, Cotillard denied her involvement in Pitt’s and Jolie’s separation after rumours implied she and Pitt were romantically involved. — Reuters an important show, compared to an average fee of £ 10,000 ( a p p r o x ima t e l y RM53,800) for a man. Business publication Forbes backs up the theory, revealing last year that 2014’s highest paid female supermodel, Gisele Bundchen, took home over US$ 47 million that year, while the top- earning male model in 2013, Sean O’Pry, earned just over US$ 1.5 million.

However, things could be looking up for male models. Thanks to the rise of social media savvy stars such as David Gandy, Jason Morgan and Lucky Blue Smith, the idea of the celebrity male model is gradually catching on. Add this to the explosive growth of the men’s grooming industry — with the haircare market in particular predicted to increase steadily over the next three years — and the recent emergence of separate men’s fashion weeks in the key cities of New York, Milan, Paris and London, and it seems safe to bet on male models enjoying a bigger influence (and a bigger pay cheque) in the near future. — Relaxnews
