‘Teachers vital to ensure conducive conditions for children’s development’
SIBU: Teachers play an important part in ensuring that a school fosters a conducive environment for a child’s intellectual and psychological development.
The chief principal of Sunshine Kindergarten, Adeline Wong, stressed that this was the reason why teachers should strive to be role models for the children to follow.
She was speaking during Sunshine Kindergarten’s grand and colourful 18th Anniversary Graduation cum Thanksgiving Night held at Sibu Civic Centre on Saturday night.
“Thus, discipline also features in every stage of a child’s development.
“In school, we must submit to the discipline of the teachers,” she said, adding that children in Sunshine Kindergarten are trained in different ways to make them fit for adult life.
“The children are taught to be obedient to their elders and parents. These students need to be educated and disciplined with love so that they can understand and appreciate the way the teachers prepare them to be responsible, mature and loving citizens of our country,” she said.
On arelatednote, Wong expressed a big ‘thank you’ to all parents and teachers for working together to bring up these children who will be the leaders of tomorrow.
“To all our parents, thank you once again for your support all these years and to the teachers, thumbs up for all your dedication and hard work.”
“Last but not least, let us strive hard together to bring up good children who will be able to contribute to society,” she added.
Meanwhile, parents and other guests attending the event were glued to their seats as the students of Sunshine Kindergarten enthralled and impressed them with well- choreographed dance performances that were a delight to behold.
The young children wore colourful creative costumes which suited the themes of their respective performances, moving and dancing to the music like little professional performers.
Among the many highlights of the night were an umbrella and fan dance, robot dance, pom-pom dance, and cultural dance and songs. A total of 67 students were involved in the event.
