Boulevard Mall holds children’s singing contest

KUCHING: A total of 13 children took part in the preliminar­y round of a singing competitio­n hosted by Boulevard Shopping Mall here yesterday.

The participan­ts, aged between seven and 12, were required to sing their own selection of Chinese songs before a panel of three judges. The best contestant would then proceed to the fi nals at Boulevard Hypermarke­t in Miri on Dec 17.

According to the organisers, another preliminar­y round would be held in Miri this Nov 27 for 34 childrens and only 16 of them would be selected for the fi nals.

The champion would receive a RM1,000 cash prize, the first runner-up RM800, the second runner-up RM500 plus hampers and cash vouchers each from Nestle Honey Star, Goodrich Optical Centre and Imperial Hotel.

A consolatio­n cash prize of RM100 would also be awarded to the remaining contestant­s.

Other categories up for grabs at the finals include the Best Performanc­e Award and the Best Costume Award.

Meanwhile, the 10 girls taking part in the preliminar­y round yesterday were Angel Tay Xin Yie, Chua Zi Yi, Janebel Chin Yi Xuan, Jojo Voon Yii Rou, Nicole Kung Tze Wee, Nikki Kung Tze Ying, Samantha Lim Guan Chun, Selina Boon Zi Wei, Tsen Ming Jie and Irene Kiung Xiu Shue.

The boys were Denson Chan Yew Shin, Jackvin Chai Chang Wei and Jong Jin Ming.
