KUCHING: The Sarawak Dayak Graduates Association ( SDGA) Women’s Committee held a seminar on women’s empowerment at a hotel here on Saturday in line with its goals of strengthening knowledge on women’s rights and leadership and encouraging women’s participation in entrepreneurship and technology sustainability.

“Women have been told to pursue what they love to do and keep believing and to not easily give up nor give in to fear. No matter how weak they are, they must stand up and be positive as they are the pillar of family,” said SDGAWC via a press statement yesterday.

Some 200 participants attended the seminar, which sought to inspire those attending with real life examples and stories of the sacrifices and successes of women entrepreneurs who bridged the gap from zero to hero.

Among those present were SDGAWC chairperson Shella Georgina Beatrice, speakers Dr Angie Garet and Dr Charlie Dudang who spoke on behalf of entrepreneur Menut Intasin, and SDGA’s president Dr Dusit Jaul and vice-president Noelle Morse.
