Public urinator goes berserk after telling off
SIBU: A man smashed up the kitchen of a coffee shop at Pahlawan Road on Monday after he was told off for urinating on the five-footway.
In the 11pm incident, the man also attacked a stall owner for calling his actions uncivilised.
The stall owner was preparing ingredients for a dish in a basin on the five-footway, when the man began urinating on a plywood partition on the other side.
It is understood that the urine flowed towards the stall owner, causing him to tell the urinator off.
This sparked a heated argument, which led the urinator to demonstrate his displeasure by breaking glasses as well as plastic and earthenware, leaving a great mess.
A customer in the coffee shop videoed the urinator while trying to reason with him.
The video shows the urinator acting aggressively and justifying his actions because the toilet was occupied at the time, as well as beating up the stall owner for telling him off.
In the eight-minute 28- second video, the urinator also claimed knowing members of two notorious gangs here.
As he exited the shop, the urinator promised to return in 10 minutes to straighten things out with the stall owner but failed to do so.
The stall owner lodged a police report claiming he hurt his arms during the struggle with the urinator.
Sibu deputy police chief Supt Martin Koo confirmed receiving the report and said police would arrest the suspect.
“The problem is the restaurant owner could not identify him. We shall try to locate him. We hope the restaurant owner will help us to identify him,” said Koo.
He added the complainant suspected the urinator was drunk during the incident.
“It is alleged he urinated near the kitchen basin where the victim was. The suspect did not urinate in the toilet,” said Koo.
Prior to the public urination, the man was drinking in the coffee shop with his friends.
Meanwhile, the video of the incident posted on Facebook has gone viral.
Netizens have condemned the urinator with some nicknaming him ‘ The Urinating Buddy’.
One netizen even posted a photograph of diapers, suggesting the urinator use them.
