Queen graces ministry’s appreciati­on ceremony

KUALA LUMPUR: The Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah yesterday graced any appreciati­on ceremony organised by the Women, Family and Community Developmen­t Ministry (KPWKM) here.

Upon arrival, Her Majesty was received by Women, Family and Community Developmen­t Minister Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim.

Also present were KPWKM Secretary- General Dr Rose Lena Lazemi, Women’s Developmen­t Department Director- General Datuk Yatimah Sarjiman and Kedah Menteri Besar’s wife Kedah, Datin Seri Hizam Awang Ahmad.

Rohani in her welcoming speech expressed gratitude for Her Majesty’s contributi­ons and support towards KPWKM’s efforts and initiative­s in achieving it’s goals.

“Her Majesty’s involvemen­t in charity work has always been exemplary and inspired us to continue to contribute and help those in need, especially the target groups.

At the ceremony, Her Majesty was presented with a special video clip titled ‘Dirgahayu Tuanku’.

During the ceremony, the guests were entertaine­d to a dance performanc­e by children from Tengku Budriah Children Home; fashion show by the Associatio­n of Bumiputera Women in Business and Profession­s ( Peniagawat­i) and a song rendition by singer Dayang Nurfaizah.

Her Majesty then received a book titled ‘ Dirgahayu Tuanku’ and a Sarawakian traditiona­l scarf as mementos from Rohani. — Bernama
