‘Mencari Jalan Pulang’ to be filmed in Kuching and Miri
MIRI: Miri City Council ( MCC) welcomes any effort and collaboration to promote this resort city locally and internationally.
A recent effort MCC supported was a short film on food filmed here last month by Hidden Anniemation Sdn Bhd, a production company based in Kuching.
In a dialogue session with Miri Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry ( MCCCI) yesterday, Miri Mayor Adam Yii Siew Sang said Hidden Anniemation Sdn Bhd director Alvin Giam met him on their plan to shoot a second short film ‘Mencari Jalan Pulang’ to be filmed in Kuching and Miri.
“MCC supported them in their project a month ago. Now they are coming back to discuss their upcoming project, and to find people willing to invest in it,” he told the press after their dialogue session at MCCCI office yesterday.
Yii had asked the MCCCI chairman on the matter and he agreed to discuss it further, hence a dialogue organised for MCCCI and Hidden Anniemation Sdn Bhd.
“It’s a very good project. MCCCI is willing to look into this project to promote Miri and its people to those outside,” he added.
Yii commended MCCCI for its willingness to help MCC promote Miri over the past years, and continue to support in the years to come.
He is hopeful that the upcoming dialogue between the two would have a positive outcome.
Hidden Anniemation Sdn Bhd producer who was present yesterday said production of the short film needs a huge budget, so more investors were required. ‘Mencari Jalan Pulang’ would be filmed in Kuching and Miri.
Present yesterday were MCCCI chairman Lee Khoi Yun, Hidden Anniemation Sdn Bhd director Alvin Giam, producer Annie Goh and scriptwriter Rayson Tan.
