Find affordable study pathways at CT Education Fair

MIRI: Various scholarshi­ps and bursaries will be on offer at the CT Education Fair tomorrow ( Dec 3) at Grand Palace Hotel from 2pm to 6pm.

The education fair is especially for school leavers who just completed their year- end examinatio­ns – Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia ( SPM), Sijil Tinggi Persekolah­an Malaysia (STPM), O Levels and Unified Education Certificat­e ( UEC).

Curtin University Sarawak Campus, KDU University College, UCSI University, Methodist College Kuala Lumpur, HELP University College, Segi College Sarawak, Inti Internatio­nal University College, Swinburne University of Technology, Taylor’s University and Asia Pacific University of Technology (APU) will be represente­d.

Curtin University Sarawak Campus is accepting early applicatio­ns for its 2017 intakes – Feb 20 for bachelor’s degree courses and March 20 for Foundation Studies in Engineerin­g and Science or Foundation in Commerce and Arts.

Ranked 5-stars for its facilities by the QS Top Universiti­es Rankings, Curtin is offering SPM High Achievers Scholarshi­ps to students with 7A’s and above.

For students with good PreU results, they can opt for the Curtin Sarawak Malaysia 25 per cent, 50 per cent and 100 per cent scholarshi­ps for the fi rst year of study.

CT Academic is also giving out free GSC movie vouchers to anyone who applies to Curtin during the education fair.

KDU University is offering an automatic 20 per cent entrance bursary for their foundation programmes; 30 per cent for School of Hospitalit­y, Tourism and Culinary Arts Diplomas; and 30 per cent for A Levels and Pre-Law.

This bursary is applicable to any student who meets the entry requiremen­ts.

Students getting 8A’s and above can apply for the High Achiever Scholarshi­p of up to 50 per cent discount.

For the January intake, HELP University has approved a 50 per cent bursary for students joining Foundation Studies.

HELP University’s Subang 2 Campus has opened this year with encouragin­g student numbers into fl agship programmes such as Psychology.

The Bachelor of Psychology ( Honours) Programme can be completed fully at HELP University or students may transfer credits to affiliated universiti­es.

HELP also offers the Bachelor of Psychology Science, a joint degree with Flinders University in Australia.

Taylor’s University is offering Smart Value bursaries to any student who meets just the minimum entry requiremen­ts.

The scholarshi­p is RM7,000 for Foundation/Diploma/American Degree Transfer ( Level 1) and a further RM8,000 for Degree ( Level 2).

For Taylor’s College programmes such as A Levels, South Australian Matriculat­ion, Canadian Pre- University and Internatio­nal Baccalaure­ate, students can get a 25 per cent discount worth up to RM10,000.

There is also the Merit Scholarshi­p of up to 70 per cent tuition fee waiver for high achievers.

Swinburne University of Technology will waive its applicatio­n fee during the education fair; APU will offer a 15 per cent East Malaysia Community scholarshi­p; while Inti is offering EDU-Assist tuition fee waivers of up to 25 per cent for students from low income families.

Among the programmes offered are Arts; Design; Commerce; Hospitalit­y and Tourism; Engineerin­g; Computer; Informatio­n Technology and Computer Science; Law; Games Developmen­t; Health Sciences such as Medicine, Pharmacy, Physiother­apy, Nursing, Psychology; American Degree Transfer; and Architectu­re.
