Najib launches book titled ‘Kesetiaan Sepanjang Hayat’

-

DATUK Seri Najib Tun Razak yesterday launced a book on the leadership’s legacy of two Malaysian Prime Ministers, namely he himself and his father, the late Tun Abdul Razak Hussein in developing the country, titled ‘Kesetiaan Sepanjang Hayat (lifetime loyalty)’.

The fifth and special edition book produced by the Foundation of Research on Transformation (FORT) was written by the Prime Minister’s advisor and Senior Research Officer Datuk Seri Prof Khairil Annas Jusoh and Dr Sabri Mohamad Sharif, respectively.

Najib who appreciated the efforts of both authors in producing the 664-page book said, the book was very meaningful not only to him, but to the country’s history since 70 years ago.

“I hope the book can be a guide to all of us to know the course of our politics and leaders for us to use all good things in it as a guidance and improve our weaknesses ... hopefully we can all be a more trustworthy and respectful race,” he said in a brief speech.

Besides the two authors, the launching ceremony was also attended by Wanita Umno chief Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil.

Khairil Annas when met by reporters said, the book had created history of its own in the national bookkeeping treasures, as it was the first compilation to combine Najib’s timeline since 1976 and during the administration of Abdul Razak. He said, almost 20 years was spent to collect data based on his personal obeservation as advisor to the prime minister.

“Hopefully this book could awaken the Malays, Muslims and Bumiputera not to just let go the achievement enjoyed in this country ... the hardship of the former leaders, now and then in developing the country,” he said.

A total of 5,000 copies of the book will be distributed for free to the delegates and public during the Umno General Assembly which is held today and tomorrow, he said, adding that those who were not around, could contact FORT to get a copy of the book, free of charge. — Bernama
