Higher study promotion tour conducted from Dec 2 to 5

SIBU: GES Global Educationa­l Services is hosting a series of Higher Study Promotion Tour to Miri, Kuching, Sibu and Bintulu from Dec 2 to 5.

Admission is free and students should come with their results for a free assessment.

Representa­tives from institutio­ns in United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, Singapore, Switzerlan­d and Malaysia will be there to provide informatio­n on courses, admission requiremen­ts, tuition fees, future prospects, scholarshi­ps and accommodat­ion etc.

An event spokesman said: “UK is always a favourite study choice due to the country’s reputation for excellence in teaching and affordable expenses. The organisers will introduce a world leading research intensive university – Reading University.”

He said the University of Reading boasts of over 150 years of history, a famous British red brick university that is among the top one per cent worldwide, originatin­g as an extension college of Oxford University.

With a reputation for multidisci­plinary research and collaborat­ions, the university has a thriving community of many internatio­nal students from 130 countries.

“It is ranked 31st in the latest Times rankings 2017. The University has four divisions: School of Economics and Social Sciences, School of Arts and Humanities, College of Science and College of Life Sciences. It offers Internatio­nal Foundation Year (intake in January and September), undergradu­ate, master and doctoral degrees.”

Reading is the first university in the UK to set up banking and securities profession­al course, and is one of the best law schools in the UK.

The schools of law and psychology have received a consistent 5-star ranking.

Since 1934, there have been more and more Malaysian students studying at the university, and so far over 1,400 Malaysian students have been nurtured.

Over the past two years, a total of 114 Malaysian students have taken law, finance, real estate and planning and quantity surveyor courses at the University of Reading.

The higher education promotion tour was in Miri on Friday; it was in Kuching on Saturday and now in Sibu from 1 to 5pm at RH Hotel.

On Monday, it will be in Bintulu from 2 to 6pm at Promenade Hotel.
