Amal takes trophy with heartwarmi­ng ‘Ku Akui’

MIRI: Amal Ikhlas emerged champion in the Malay Open Karaoke Competitio­n at Permaisuri Imperial City Mall here on Thursday night.

He melted the judges’ hearts with his ‘Ku Akui’ number to take the trophy, RM300 cash, a certificat­e and an Indocafe hamper.

First runner-up was Aida Ahmad who sang ‘Tak Ingin Sendiri’ while Yusmin Madiasa was second runner-up with ‘Nirmala’ and Norhadiana Jaujuri fourth with ‘Kemelut Di Muara Kasih’.

Aida, Yusmin and Norhadiana received RM250, RM200 and RM100 in cash respective­ly plus a trophy, certificat­e and Indocafe hamper each.

The five consolatio­n winners were Mohd Nizamuddin, Phoebe Chole Lawai, Mohamad Hazuan, Maslina Bujir and Shara Abang who each received RM50 cash with trophy, certificat­e and Indocafe hamper.

Yusmin Madiasa won another RM100, a trophy, certificat­e and Indocafe hamper for being Best Performer of the night, while Sarihat Yahya was BestDresse­d Man, bringing home RM100, a trophy, certificat­e and Indocafe hamper.

Overall 24 singing enthusiast­s from Miri competed in the event held in conjunctio­n with the 4-day Miri Trade Fair (Mitraf) started on Dec 1.

It is organised by See Hua Marketing in collaborat­ion with the management of Permaisuri Imperial City Mall, and sole sponsor Indocafe.

Assistant marketing manager of See Hua Marketing, Jarvis Lau and marketing manager of See Hua Marketing, Nicky Chua handed over the prizes to the winners.
