OnString enthrals shoppers at music festival roadshow

KUCHING: Local band OnString entertaine­d shoppers with country and hit songs at CityONE Megamall during the Miri Country Music Festival ( MCMF) 2017 roadshow here on Saturday.

This is the first time organiser Place Borneo Sdn Bhd brought the roadshow to city dwellers here to promote the Feb 25-26 event.

Besides the ` live’ performanc­e by OnString, there were fun activities such as ` Musical Cowboy Hat’ and game booths for the public and free merchandis­e for lucky individual­s.

The annual MCMF will be held for the fourth year running at Parkcity Everly Hotel in Miri.

Set on the coast of Brighton Beach, the 2017 edition of this outdoor music event is expected to showcase bigger and better country and western bands.

Internatio­nal bands from Australia, USA and a Bruneibase­d European band will be performing with popular local bands from Miri, Sabah, Kuala Lumpur and Penang.

Among the performers will be Shane Smith and The Saints ( USA), James Thompson and The Strange Pilgrims (Australia), Casual Ceilidh ( Brunei/Europe), Raggy Project ( Penang), Russell Curtis ( Kuala Lumpur), Adi and Maha (Sabah) and Country Road Band (Sarawak).

The organiser is offering a holiday deal of ` Buy 3 Free 1’ ( applicable to adult or child for one- day pass or two- day pass).

Tickets are sold at RM80 (oneday pass) and RM150 (two- day pass) per adult as well as RM40 ( one- day pass) and RM70 (twoday pass) per child aged between three and 12 years old.
