Semi-paralysed man cries over son’s 10As score
SEREMBAN: Overwhelmed with joy, a semi-paralysed stroke patient broke down and wept upon hearing his son’s excellent performance in the Form Three Assessment ( PT3).
Md Nazam Mustafa, 48, hugged his son, Muhammad Fakhrullah, who recorded 10As.
The 15-year- old, who is the second of four children, studies at the Sekolah Datuk Abdul Razak (SDAR) here.
“I feel happy and am thankful. I hope he will successfuly reach the top, I can only pray and give moral support,” Md Nazam who was afflicted with paralysis six years ago told Bernama when met in the school compound.
His wife, Norasikin Md Tawil, 45, said she and her husband who used to work as hospital attendants had never forced Muhammad Fakhrullah to achieve excellence but merely to work hard.
“For example, we never taught him English but he liked to read books in English since young... so, he learned from there,” said the housewife.
Using his brother who is studying aerospace engineering in France as a source of inspiration, Muhammad Fakhrullah said he aspired to study mechanical engineering in Spain.
Two other students who scored 10As, Muhammed Mikhail A. Hafidz and Ammar Haziq Mazlan had represented Malaysia in the 5th ASEAN Plus Three Junior Science Odyssey Competition in the Philippines from June 12-18. — Bernama
