Good Samaritans donate food items to needy women
KUCHING: Two elderly women from poor families living Kampung Sinaan, Bau received donations from a group of Good Samaritans recently.
The donations, in the form of food items, were handed over by voluntary social worker Lim Chee Haw to Sinea Sabet and Aini Tuyat. Both women are living with their respective families and their husbands are daily wage earners.
“Sinea has poor eyesight and is unable to walk properly. Both Sinea and Aini also have children to take care of,” said Lim, adding that he was doing this out of sincerity to help the poor and the needy irrespective of race or religion.
“Most people who come to me want to help society due to religious obligations and I am also doing it too (for the sake of religion). To distribute these donations by Good Samaritans, I will look for the poor and needy in society,” he said.
On another matter, Lim said he could also assist in helping nonMuslim poor families to acquire coffins – purchased through donations by Good Samaritans – during times of bereavement.
For more information, contact Lim at 082-248153 or 016- 807 0388. Those who wish to donate but at the same time want to remain anonymous can also call Lim for assistance.
So far, Lim has done more than 600 acts of charity since he started social volunteerism 10 years ago. Among the recent donors via Lim who want to be acknowledged are Amanda Chua, Derry Chin, Annie Ling, Connie Yeo, Vivian Yu, Philip Ong, Cecilia Sim, Donna Chan, Crystal Chai, Ah Fen, Phoebe and their respective family members.
