TAWAU: Newly registered Parti Warisan Sabah ( Warisan) is ready to form the state government after the next general election (GE14) and is also planning to lead Sabah to a new beginning.

Warisan deputy president Darell Leiking said Warisan will not be an opposition party but a responsible party to all Sabahans or voters in Sabah regardless of race and religion.

The party will not accept racists but will treat and serve all Sabahans as their priority, he said.

Darell, who is Penampang Member of Parliament, is confident that Warisan can capture Sabah in GE14 by winning 73 state seats and 25 parliamentary seats leaving no chances for Barisan National (BN) and Umno.

“Warisan welcomes any party that share the same mission/views of Warisan on inculcating a spirit of unity among all races, ethnics and religions in Sabah as a whole. Warisan aims to help Sabahans unite and not to disunite them. A country will break down because of the presence of racists but it will grow without them.”

He said this to the media during a press conference before a seminar organised by the party here on Saturday night. Also present were vice-president Junz Wong, Dato’ Mohd Azis Jamman, and president of the district Insan Welfare organisation, Amir Hussin Abdul Jalil.

“For Pakatan Rakyat (PR), they must have the same mission as Warisan, so why not use Warisan’s symbol to form a government in Sabah,” Darell asked.

Darell said Sabah should be led by a common party, that is, all-inone political vehicle (in one ship). Warisan looks at everyone ( born in Sabah) regardless of different races and religions as Sabahans and will serve them well.

Touching on a statement by Sri Tanjung assemblyman, Chan Foong Hin, on the Warisan’s emblem ( Bajau sailing vessel), Darell urged Chan to apologise to the Bajau and Suluk community for disrespecting other races.

He is astonished that Chan, who is a leader in DAP Sabah, is showing a racist slant He said DAP is a good party, but not when it spews racist comments and make fun of it. It is shameful not only to the Chinese community but also to Sabahans as the racist culture is only prevalent in Malaya, he said.

“I urge Chan to apologise in all languages, and not only in the Chinese language,” Darell said.

On other matters, Darell urged the government to add a column for Sabahan (ethnic) and Sarawak (ethnic) in all government forms besides Chinese, Malay and Indian.

For Pakatan Rakyat (PR), they must have the same mission as Warisan, so why not use Warisan’s symbol to form a government in Sabah. Darell Leiking, Warisan deputy president
