10th Battalion Royal Ranger Regiment gearing for Ops Kris Parang/Gabungan

-

KUCHING: The 10th Battalion Royal Ranger Regiment is gearing up for duty at Operasi Kris Parang/Gabungan along West Kalimantan- Sarawak border in July.

Its commanding officer Lt Colonel Azman Zainuddin said it would be a similar operation to the one they did last year when 250 men were assigned.

“The operation last year ran from July 2 until October 2. We shall be taking part again this year,” he told reporters after the 37th anniversary assembly at Muara Tuang Camp in Kota Samarahan yesterday.

Azman also called upon the personnel to practise the regimental system and go back to the basics as recommended by the top army leadership.

He also reminded them to practise good financial management, reduce the number of disciplinary cases and take care of the battalion’s good name.

“Stay away from unhealthy practices such as absence without leave, drug addiction and so on. I want to stress to all to avoid anything that can negatively impact our reputation and career.” He also conveyed his appreciation to those who were promoted yesterday.

“I hope this ( promotion) will motivate you to serve your country better,” he said, adding that their promotion came with new responsibilities.

Assistant commanding officer Major Saiful Fitri Mat Rashid, operations officer Major Paul Ondahal and Sargent Major ( PW 1) Jabun Lajang were among those present.
