“We hope that our service by reaching out to these students from poor families could help meet their basic need, and ease the burden faced by the parents,” said Wong.

Sharing a piece of advice with the students, Wong said: “At the same time, we wish the students all the best, and hope you will try your best to study and learn as much as possible as this is the future you are preparing yourself for.

“If you want to be a great person, then you have to put all your effort into your studies,” she said.

In return, principal of SK Anchi, Abdul Aziz Taiee, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Lions Club International for making the effort to donate the food and relief items to the students, many of whom come from poor families.

“For those families with a lot of members, it is not easy for the parents/guardian to take care of the welfare of all family members.

“Therefore, we are truly grateful for the extra help we could get for them,” he said.
