KOTA BHARU: A civil servant was arrested following the discovery of 46 blanks and three bullet casings of the similar type in his house at Jalan Lemal, Pasir Mas, yesterday.

Kelantan Criminal Investigation Department chief ACP Mohamad Fakri Che Sulaiman said the 38year- old suspect was detained after raiding his house at about 12.30am on Monday.

“In the raid, police found SME 5.56mm blank ammo (46) as well as three casings of the same type hidden in a bag, in the suspect’s bedroom,” he told reporters at the state Police Contingent Headquarters here yesterday.

Mohamad Fakri said based on initial investigations, police also discovered that the bullets seized were from a M4 rifle.

He said the civil servant was believed to have obtained the bullets from his nephew who was a soldier in Pahang, for decoration purposes.

Police would also investigate his nephew.
