Public to take part in Tower of Books Reading Challenge

MIRI: Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, Miri is organising a ‘Tower of Books’ Reading Challenge from January to December 2017 to nurture the reading habit in society.

The challenge is open to those residing in Sarawak is divided into four categories: kindergart­en, primary school, secondary school and adults.

Participan­ts are required to read books of fiction and non-fiction, excluding textbooks or school workbooks and complete the entry form with their own synopsis of the books read.

Every 15 readers who read the most from each category will be awarded a certificat­e of participat­ion and Pustaka Negeri Sarawak’s exclusive merchandis­e.

The entry form can be downloaded from Pustaka Negeri Sarawak’s official website at www.pustaka-sarawak.com and submit via mail, by hand or fax by Dec 31.

The winners of The ‘ Tower of Books’ Reading Challenge 2016 will be announced in April this year.

The challenge started in 2013 has become an annual event with overwhelmi­ng response from society.

The first challenge saw 15 participan­ts, increasing to 98 participan­ts in 2014 followed by 101 participan­ts in 2015; and 185 in 2016.
