ICLIF, LeadWomen to hold three-day women’s leadership programme

-

KUALA LUMPUR: The Iclif Leadership and Governance Centre, in collaboration with LeadWomen, is organising a three- day programme in India on March 1 to 3, focusing on honing women’s leadership skills.

Themed, “Women of the World: Be The Change”, is targeted at senior women executives in the region, providing an opportunity for participants to have more indepth conversations with other strong-minded women.

LeadWomen’s chief executive officer Anne Abraham said the initiative is also aimed at steering upcoming women leaders in navigating the 21th century and be an inspiration to other women.

“This is a deliberate and specific programme that holds high promise of bringing out the true authentic qualities of a women leader.

“This is a strategic business issue and not a women’s issue.

“It is essential that we harness the talent and energy of local women by giving them equal opportunities in the leadership space, if we want to achieve our vision of becoming a highincome nation in the next few years,” she told a media briefing on the programme here, yesterday.

Meanwhi le, Icl i f Chief Execut ive Of f icer Rajeev Peshwaria said to be truly effective, leaders must have single- minded determination and willing to make bold deci s ions to take thei r organisations to the next level.

“To earn the right influence and be followed, leaders must have humble confidence and deep compassion.

“Leaders need to have longlasting energy to see their vision through to completion, dare to be different, and be undaunted in pursuing ideas.

“Leaders must exhibit the courage, momentum and stamina to give their leadership gravitas and their employees the confidence to follow on the journey,” he added.

The pi lot col laborat ion between Iclif and LeadWomen would combine the leadership centre’s strong Asian insights and global perspectives, with the women empowerment organisation’s de e p understanding of what it takes for a woman to be a leader. — Bernama
