‘TN50 will not marginalise Vision 2020’

-

KUALA LUMPUR: The National Transformation 2050 (TN50) will not marginalise Vision 2020, but instead it is aimed at empowering Malaysia’s mission to become a fully developed nation.

Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Razali Ibrahim said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, when tabling the 11th Malaysia Plan, had inserted Vision 2020 as part of the plan from 2016 to 2020.

“I want to ask the cynical quarters who play up the issue (TN50 and Vision 2020) if we should be contented by only being happy and celebrate the success after achieving the status of a fully developed and high income nation?

“No! (because) as a responsible government, (we) have drawn up the next target and mission, namely, TN50,” he told a media conference after opening the Second Cup Coffee Cafe at Sunway Putra Mall, here yesterday.

Razali said the government would pay attention to all views and opinions received from the young and endeavour to realise their aspiration.

When tabling the 2017 Budget last year (2016), the prime minister had announced that the government would launch a national discourse series known as 2050 National Transformation which would be branded as TN50 after the 2017 Budget.

He said TN50 would encompass three decades of process and activities to form a Malaysian race which is truly commanding and with excellent minds.
