MIRI: Principal and president of IBS College Antony Hii assured parents and students that every single graduate will be able to find a job and contribute to the development of the community.

“As a higher education provider, one of the KPI (key performance index) in measuring our success is the employment rate of our graduates. I am glad to report that all of our 1,800 graduates are very successful in their careers,” said Hii at the IBS College 14th Graduation yesterday.

Hii further disclosed that many are working in the finance and banking sector, services organisations such as audit and taxation, production firm, such as oil palm and many have started their own business.

“Based on Ministry of Higher Education tracer study, I wish to report that the employment rate of our 2016 graduates, within six months of the date of graduation, is 99 per cent,” he revealed.

The ceremony yesterday witnessed a total of 164 students completing various levels of studies. Most of the graduates are students who have completed the diploma and the degree in business programme and others are adult graduates from the offcampus program.

Together with the awards, IBS College also presented scholarships to students from eight schools.

“Higher education has become very expensive nowadays, we have assisted many students to obtain education loans from PTPTN and also helped many students to obtain scholarship and sponsorship from different corporations,” said Hii.

The college has also provided scholarship to school leavers annually. In 2016, the college provided scholarships and sponsorship to more than 84 students with a total sum of more than RM260,000.

“Although the economy this year seems not doing well, IBS will continue to provide financial support to those who would like to continue their higher education with us. I welcome all the principals in sending me students whom they think we could help,” he added.

Apart from providing quality education, IBS’s commitment to work with the community and to expand its social responsibility has always been one of their business objectives.

In another development, IBS’ new collaboration with Unimas, University Malaysia Sarawak provided the opportunity to offer postgraduate programme which includes Corporate MBA and Master in Teaching Technology (MSc in Learning Science) and others will be launched in July, subject to final approval from relevant authority.
