Ex-soldier wins Myvi in Emart anniversar­y contest

KUCHING: Former army man Paul Tepok Simboh, 50, can thank his lucky stars after winning a Perodua Myvi 1.3 car in the Emart’s ‘Anniversay Lucky Draw Contest 2016’.

His name was picked among 10 finalists during the darw at Emart Batu Kawah here yesterday.

Paul, who hails from Kampung Peninjau Lama in Siniawan, was elated by his prize which was presented to him by Emart Batu Kawah assistant manager Pui Yung Ann.

“I never expected to win a car, and this is a nice present for my family,” he told reporters here.

Paul said he would usually spend at least RM800 a month at Emart Batu Kawah, adding that he would look forward to joining more contests after this.

Meanwhile, a spokespers­on said the lucky draw was held to celebrate Emart’s anniversar­y and also to appreciate the continuous support from its loyal customers.

Shoppers who spent RM100 and above in a single receipt were eligible for the contest, which managed to attract 400,000 entries throughout the period from Sept 16 to Dec 31 last year.

“We randomly picked the names of 10 finalists out of the 400,000 receipts on Jan 14 and from there, nine of the lucky 10 received consolatio­n prizes – only one brought home the grand prize,” the spokespers­on said.

Aishah Abdul Aziz, Siti Mordiana Raduan, Delima Adsi, Noor Artikasari Mohd Fauzi, Ahmad Suteh, Mohammad Firdaus Ling Abdullah, Noraini Mohamad Taha, Imel Nur Ramadhani Bidang and Mohamad Azaraiee Hambali each received the consolatio­n prize of RM500 cash voucher.

Emart Xpress Sdn Bhd business support assistant manager Salawati Amin was present at the presentati­on yesterday.
