Nancy keen to see local entrepreneurs succeed in ventures
KOTA SAMARAHAN: Minister in Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri met with locally-based entrepreneurs at Simunjan town yesterday to discuss on ways to improve their income.
The meeting was attended by members of the Simunjan Entrepreneurs Community Association ( Perkous) and other Simunjan-based entrepreneurs.
According to Nancy, the meeting was held with the main objective of finding ways to improve the entrepreneurs’ income and how she as their elected representative could help them in their business. She revealed that she had a few ideas herself on how she could help the entrepreneurs improve their business in Simunjan.
“Among the things which I suggested to them is to provide a site suitable for them (entrepreneurs) here in Simunjan. What is important is that they can sell their products with ease and give them what they really need when they want to sell their products,” she added.
Her priority would also be to improve the living status and increase economic activities for the people of Simunjan.
During the meeting, she also praised the entrepreneurs who were very innovative with their products.
“Some of them already have their own brands and that shows how ambitious they are with their products. We encourage all entrepreneurs to have vision as entrepreneurs with vision also contribute to the development of the country,” she said.
Nancy also advised entrepreneurs to make use of the facilities provided by the government.
Also present during the meeting were Simunjan assemblyman Awla Dris, Simunjan District Council secretary Geoffrey Ramji and Nancy’s political secretary Mohamad Kamaluddin Mohamed Effendie.
