Hometown reunion in Mukah for Three Rivers School batch

-

SARIKEI: Former students who left Three Rivers Secondary School in Mukah after their Sarawak Junior examination in 1969 and Senior Cambridge in 1971 will be holding a second reunion come Aug 26.

The reunion would be a nostalgic one as it would be held at a hotel in the school’s hometown of Mukah, said organising committee chairman Felix Ho and his assistant Tan Tay Hoon during a preparatory meeting in Kuching recently.

“A nostalgic and memorable one which everyone in the batch will treasure for many years to come or even the rest of our lives,” they surmised.

Of course it would be grander than the first reunion held in Sibu last year, given that an organising committee was set up a year in advance to prepare for this occasion.

Apart from drawing up programmes to liven up the reunion night, the committee had at their last meeting in Kuching nearly finalised an irresistible package for everyone who turned up for the reunion including spouses and former teachers, they disclosed without elaborating further.

Members of the batch were required to contribute something but the amount was minimal compared to the package offered, they said, adding that it was made possible with contributions extended by colleagues whom they will reveal at the reunion.

Nevertheless, it was agreed that batch members were welcome to contribute more than the minimum amount, which would be used for donation purposes during a visit to their alma mater.

Everything would be finalised during the organising committee’s meeting scheduled to be held in Mukah in June.
