Google tops Fortune’s list of best employers

GOOGLE has once again topped Fortune magazine’s 20th annual list of the “100 Best Companies to Work For ,” retaining its place as one of the most coveted employers on the planet.

The rankings, based on employee surveys of more than 232,000 workers among more than 1,000 companies, consider company culture, employee engagement, fairness and talent developmen­t, as part of the overall assessment, among other factors.

Google, which boasts free gourmet food, hair cuts and laundry service for its employees, among many other perks, has been voted the No. 1 place to work by Fortune a total of eight times over 11 years, and the past six years consecutiv­ely. The in ternet g iant - - w hich recently i ncreased pa rental leave -- is one of 12 companies in t otal w hich h ave m ade th e ranking e very y ear s ince th e list began 20 years ago.
