Divisive politics will erode unity under BN — Kanowit MP

-

KANOWIT: Members of Barisan Nasional ( BN) component parties here have been urged to unite under the umbrella of the ruling coalition.

Kanowit MP Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang said he realised that some BN members distance themselves from each other and there were also those who accused others of being a follower of only certain elected representatives here.

“That is not what we want in politics. Politics should be able to bring people together and not divide them.

“In politics, we need everybody because their vote is counted. It is not politics if people are divided because we accuse them of this and that.

“I am sorry to say but such acts will affect election results if people are divided,” he said when officiating at a ‘Sepakat Komuniti’ programme held at Rumah Engkamat Kana in Nanga Tada here on Saturday.

The programme was jointly organised by 1Malaysia Community ( K1M) Nanga Tada, Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) Rumah Engkamat Kana and Department.

On the general election (GE14) that is speculated to be held this year, Aaron said Sarawak will still be a BN state even if BN lost in the election at federal level.

He also said there were many issues at federal level but the people should use their wisdom for good measure.

Meanwhile, Kanowit Information Department head Donny Minggu Ling who spoke earlier, reminded those who have not yet register as voters to do so.

He said registration can be done at Community Development Department ( Kemas) office in Kanowit, post offices and at political party offices.

“The future of our country is in the hand of the voters,” he said.

Kanowit District Officer Katis Noel Nyabong commented that he had set out several aspects to improve service delivery in Kanowit.

The aspects included community engagement and efficient collaboration between government agencies and departments, he said. Kanowit Information
