Have 4Qs for greater productivity, Sibu Resident tells civil servants

-

SIBU: Sibu Resident Hii Chang Kee called on civil servants here to have what he termed as 4Qs, namely Intelligent Quotient ( IQ), Emotional Quotient ( EQ), Spiritual Quotient ( SQ) and Physical Quotient ( PQ) for greater productivity. He said all these four Qs were inter- connected and inter- dependent.

“If you have high IQ but unable to control your emotion, you will not be able to work effectively and excel in an organisation.

“If you have high IQ and EQ and attained great wealth and success, you will not feel self-fulfilling due to internal self- struggle or low SQ. And even if you have high IQ, EQ and SQ, without PQ you will not have physical fitness to carry on your life joyfully and meaningfully,” he said when officiating at a ‘ Walk A Mile’ programme organised by Maksak Sibu Division at Sarawak Energy premises here on Saturday.

Hii said therefore, they must possess all the four ‘Qs’ and only then would they enjoy success, peace and joy.

He also said that Maksak Sibu Division has been advocating the importance of physical fitness and wellness by organising the programme every month.

Besides promoting physical fitness and wellness through aerobics, Zumba and health check, the programme has also helped to promote a closer rapport among the local civil servants, he said.

“I hope that all head of departments in Sibu Division will continue to support this programme by encouraging your staff to attend the event.

“Every one of us should try to walk more. Walking more, whether it is for work or leisure, is an easy way to being more active without trying too hard,” he said.
